Hot water tank repair , tank was at set temperature when I arrived . Watched burner ignite with no issues 3 times . Checked pressure going to pressure switch at .8 inw only need .27 inw to close switch . Cleaned pressure switch tube , removed burner assembly to clean flame sensor and burner . Sensor had some build on it ( see photos ) . Explain to customer could be from a lower temperature setting ( tank was set to hot 120 f ) plus extra cold ground water causing the tank to lose temperature quicker or possible a cracked dip tube . To inspect dip tube we would have to cut cold water pipe going to tank , drain tank 3/4 of the way and remove the dip tube . If problem persist with no errors from the gas valve I would recommend an inspection of the dip tube .
